Preparing for your Video Shoot:

In past photo shoots, you may have found yourself flushed with anxiety as you approach the producer or photographer. Or, you may never have done this before and find yourself with unanswered questions. The best way to do a great job is to have a laid-back, enjoyable experience. There are a few things you can do to feel ready:

1. Arrive early. Give yourself time to decompress so you aren't sweaty, flushed, or anxious when you arrive for your shoot. Feel free to drop by the restroom and fix your hair / makeup before you stand in front of the camera.

2. Plan your outfit and get comfortable in it before the shoot. You can also bring a few options for the producers to see. Here are a few suggestions-
- Bring only solid colors. Think Bryn Mawr! Follow these guidelines: https://www.brynmawr.edu/inside/offices-services/college-communications/institutional-positioning-guide/design-visual-guidance/color-palette
- Bring a couple different clothing / color options; avoid solid black or solid white
- Bring a Bryn Mawr shirt / sweatshirt
- Please do not wear any clothing that shows a midriff. Pants are also preferable to shorts.

3. Please do not wear clothing with logos on it, except if it is Bryn Mawr attire. This includes shoes, if possible.

What to Expect:

The filmmaking process has been mapped out over a few months so that we're able to focus on YOU. Therefore, we may film out of order, repeat certain shots multiple times, or take breaks. Here are some things that might help you know what to expect:

 1. The footage will never be seen by anyone but editors at full-length. The piece will be cut and organized in a way that helps you tell the larger story. Don't stress about stumbling over your words or needing to repeat a movement or action.

2. There will be 5-7 people on set on most days.

3. You will not get a preview of your footage before we edit. This helps to keep your attention on the information needed for the video rather than how you look or sound.

4. Don't stress! We will do our best to make you and your personality a part of this piece, even with limited time. We are so thankful you're willing to be a part of this!

Meet the Producer:

Margo, here. I am a visual storyteller who prides herself in working with people who are not typically seen in front of the camera.

My work is inspired by traditional visual and oral storytelling used in news photojournalism. I work with clients in the arts, education, and healthcare who want to make truthful stories for their publications or advertisements.

I spend my limited free time renovating my historic house, working my garden or cycling.

I had been selling my images since I was 15. By the time I was 19 I thought I was pretty good. I got hired on a part time basis to carry stuff for a photographer. So in a sense all I was, was very cheap labor to carry stuff, my ability with a camera was incidental.
