The COVID-19 pandemic surge spiked in early 2022, when the Omnicron variant spread throughout the United States, forcing hospitals to, for a second time during the pandemic, reach capacity in their ICUs. 

Margo Reed Studio covered Main Line Health's Riddle and Lankenau hospitals just outside Philadelphia, while their healthcare staff worked to care for at-risk COVID-19 patients.
